Saudi Talent Shine at Downtown Design Riyadh

Downtown Design Riyadh is placing Saudi designers firmly in the spotlight, offering a glimpse into a future shaped by tradition, craftsmanship, and innovation. From minimalist furniture inspired by desert landscapes to architectural concepts echoing the geometry of Najdi homes, Saudi designers will showcase a unique ability to blend the old with the new.  

Among the standout voices is Noura Suleiman, co-founder of NWII.III Interiors. At Downtown Design Riyadh, NWII.III is launching furnitureline Mezlaj, presenting pieces rooted in the Kingdom's evolving interior designnarrative, showcasing innovative interpretations of living and working environments that balance progressive design with traditional sensibilities.

ZAZA Maizon, presented by Riyadh-based A1 Architects will featurebrands including Zieta, Ongaro Fuga, and IDL architectural lighting, whileanother Riyadh-headquartered studio led by Lucas Barcelo is bringing fun, sculptural pieces to the fair this year. Visitors canexplore Saudi-rooted design pieces from Hobal, which is being presentedby Tajalla, a Saudi-based creative. The brand is part of the cohort thatreceived the ‘Designed in Saudi’ seal in 2024, as well as the Designed in Saudiexhibit at Downtown Design 2024.

The fair will also include a special feature ofarchitectural installations and interactive works previously commissioned bylocal cultural institutions, emphasising the evolving creative scene of theKingdom. Providing an immersive, yet educational moment for visitors of allbackgrounds, Architecture and Design Commission will also proudly present a collaborative installation titled Narrating Woven by Ruba Al Khaldi, which includes an interactive loom used live during the fair. Ithra will curate presentations including Open Segments by SYN Architects, the Iwan Pavilion, and Adeem.

With an array of Saudi talent presenting work spanningarchitecture, product, and object design, and together with the Designed in Saudi initiative, whichwill highlight the development of the Kingdom's industrial sector and key initiatives, Saudi Arabia is poised to host leading voices from the global andregional design communities.
