The Middle East’s leading fair for design closes its doors for 2022.

Held from 9-12 November during Dubai Design Week, Downtown Design presented more than 200 brands, manufacturers and designers from over 30 countries that showcased some of the most stand-out contemporary design complemented by extensive activations, interactive talks and immersive features.

The ninth edition of Downtown Design saw studio launches and regional debuts of some of the most sought-after collections by brands from around the world. This year's fair also had a strong European presence from countries including France, Italy and Spain alongside designers and creatives that hailed from the wider Middle East and North African region as part of collectives with a focus on design from countries including Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, and Uganda, bringing a multicultural zest of creativity to this edition. The UAE Designer Exhibition returned for its third edition and showcased the best of regional talent from different design disciplines. Curated by Cyril Zammit and designed by the Emirati architecture duo at Studio D.04, it featured the works of over 15 creatives, including Amna Alshamsi, Talin Hazbar, Hamza Al-Omari, Fatima Alawadhi, Raghad Alali and many others.

Specially curated pop-ups invited visitors to discover, buy or commission design from around the globe, from first-time presentations including ‘Re-store’ by Sharjah Architectural Triennial to hvíla editions from Berlin and many more. To learn more about the pop-ups this year click here.

This year’s highlights included a range of interactive installations dotting the fair including Parametric Structures by Michel Abboud; Be Amazed by Delfina Design staged for Veuve Clicquot; IOTA by Lebanese multidisciplinary design duo Karim + Elias supported by House of Today; Control No Control by Studio Iregular with support from Kohler and I Hear You by Kapil Bhimekar staged with support from Ideal Standard.
