Evoking the allure of Art Deco speakeasies, Cosentino will unveil their concept titled ‘1930’ by Etereo, at this year’s Downtown Design fair in d3. A contemporary lounge experience designed, the concept draws from the geometric harmony of Piero Portaluppi, the sculptural sensibility of Carlo Scarpa, and the bold architectural gestures of Ettore Sottsass, celebrating The Age of Elegance through a sophisticated interplay of geometry, materiality and historical inspiration.
The space unfolds as a sequence of moments: a sculptural bar, a piano lounge, a playful game table, and a salon for quiet conversation. A hidden bathroom, partially visible through a porthole, adds a cinematic sense of mystery.
Welcoming visitors to the fair in an immersive installation concept, Cosentino’s innovative surfaces are reinterpreted through the lens of Etereo, together crafting an environment that is both timeless and contemporary — a tribute to design as a living dialogue between past and present.
Founded by Stefania Digregorio and Mirko Sala Tenna, Etereo fuses Italian artistic heritage with contemporary influences, making the studio a natural design partner for Cosentino. “Our response to the brief was to enhance the materials, give it rhythm, narrative and emotional weight. We treated Cosentino’s surfaces as foundational design elements, capable of shaping experiences, rather than acting as neutral finishes” explains Stefania.
