Studio Majnoona

Lebanese designer Majnoona is a design label founded by Jana Sawaya that merges vibrant artistry with refined craftsmanship through close collaboration with skilled Lebanese artisans. Meaning "crazy" in Arabic, the brand celebrates eccentricity and creative freedom by combining traditional techniques with contemporary design to create functional works of art rich in narrative.

FRATA is Majnoona’s inaugural limited-edition collection, created in response to Lebanon’s economic crisis and the post-2019 collapse of the Lebanese pound. Crafted from original coins whose scrap metal value surpassed their monetary worth, each piece embeds a finite quantity of this vanishing currency. Named after the face value of the coins used within them, the objects serve as tangible memories reflecting the dualities of resilience and destruction in Beirut.
