Syrian designer Majd Alloush and artist Haredy founded Unother, a Sharjah-based design collective, to explore olfaction as an artistic medium. Alloush teaches at the American University of Sharjah with a practice in printmaking, sculpture, and installation, while Haredy works across visual arts and jewelry. Together, they combine scent, material, and form to create multisensory works exploring human connection to the natural world. 

Spore is a sculptural scent diffuser inspired by al-faqa'a, the desert truffle buried beneath UAE sands, and its underground mycelial communication networks. Its outer form is built from layered rammed earth using local desert sand and sealed with crystal resin. Inside, a 3D-printed clay vessel holds a fragrance capturing damp sand, post-thunderstorm air, and native rock-rose plants, diffusing the scent through concealed reeds.
