Syrian designer Jamal is an architect at P&T Architects and the founder of JHC Studio, an independent practice focused on raw materials, steel, concrete, and traditional crafts like Khoos weaving.
RECAST is a brutalist collection consisting of a coffee table and a lamp that transforms reclaimed construction concrete waste into a contemporary functional piece. The table features four concrete structural elements set beneath a clear glass top, creating a deliberate visual tension between weight and transparency. Integrated openings allow real greenery to emerge from the concrete mass, softening its rigid brutalist form and celebrating circular design by bringing new life to discarded materials.
