Palestinian-Jordanian designer Dania Najee presents Al Shasha, a coffee table that pays tribute to the UAE’s maritime heritage and the artistry of traditional boat-making. Inspired by the vessels that once carried fishermen and pearl divers, the lifeblood of the nation before the discovery of oil, the piece captures the spirit of resilience, craftsmanship, and connection to the sea.

Handmade using bent-lamination to form its graceful wooden curves, Al Shasha echoes the fluid motion of waves, while its organically shaped glass top bears the subtle imprints of the sea, as if shaped by water itself. Together, these elements weave a story of legacy and renewal, transforming traditional craft into a contemporary reflection of place and memory.
