The Temporary Museum for New Design reveals the designers it will be bringing to Dubai for their first exhibition outside Milan.

It has become an integral part of Salone del Mobile, drawing more than 100,000 visitors to its location at Superstudio Più in Milan, and now the Temporary Museum for New Design is coming to Dubai to present an event within the event.

Quite different from the standard booth design of a fair, the Temporary Museum will include interactive artistic installations, titled Iconic Design/Selected Objects.

The designers selected for the Dubai installation have been carefully curated by architect, designer and artistic director Giulio Cappellini and Giselle Borioli, the creative mind behind Italian design behemoth Superstudio Piu.

In a first for the region, the museum will be showcasing Massimo Crema and Ermanno Rocchi for Melogranoblu, whose handcrafted and innovative lighting collections have secured them a position as a global brand and Slide Art’s sculptures by the designers Denis Santachiara, Alessandro Mendini and Flavio Lucchini.

Describing Dubai as a ‘hub that looks upon the future’ and an ‘extraordinary place open to new experiences and new proposals’, the team at the Temporary Museum are considering this a great opportunity for designers, architects, producers, distributors and other professionals of the sector to meet in a mutual business and cultural exchange.
