Presenting works from independent designers, collectives and creative studios, Downtown Editions will be returning to Downtown Design this November, featuring small-scale, limited-edition and bespoke design from around the world, with a spotlight on the Middle East’s creative scene.

As the region’s creative scene continues to flourish, Downtown Design Editions 2021 will be an exciting showcase for new galleries, boutiques, brands, incubators and young emergent talents to display their work and interact with procurement teams and buyers attending the fair.

Staged alongside established international brands and manufacturers showcasing their latest collections in the main fair, this year’s Downtown Editions will welcome back annual highlights such as the unveiling of the works by the four designers selected by Tashkeel for the 2021 Tanween Programme and the UAE Designer Exhibition 2.0 which features emerging designers of the local creative stage.

Other exhibitors include Dubai based studio ‘ARE’ that will be presenting an original collection of such furniture with a catchy tagline ‘Reappropriating the form’, Amal Anoohi from Dubai, Arijian from South Korea and Zieta Studio from Poland.

A special feature this year will be the launch of The Beirut Concept Store that has been invited to take part in the fair to provide much needed support to the Lebanese design community. Produced by the Lebanon-based product design incubator Exil, the Beirut Concept Store will present a mix of emerging creatives and independent designers who, under the leadership of MWPR founder and creative director Mariana Wehbe, will give an experiential tour of the Lebanese design scene

Since its inaugural edition four years ago, Downtown Editions has been instrumental in providing designers with a unique opportunity to gain valuable commissions and be featured in top tier international press including dezeen, FT How to Spend It and Wallpaper*, and has hosted the work of the region’s most successful product designers.

The full list of exhibitors will be unveiled in October 2021 and for any enquiries please get in touch with David Ross, Director of Downtown Design on [email protected].
