Roudha Alshamsi

Emirati designer Roudha Alshamsi presents Athar, a glass luminaire inspired by the fleeting scripts the wind writes across desert dunes. Translating layers of moving sand into hand-formed glass, the piece captures traces of motion just long enough for light to reveal them, creating a delicate interplay between form, memory, and environment.

Each pane carries a unique “wind-mark,” softly layered and contoured to suggest drift and pause. Light grazes the inner surfaces, illuminating the subtle rims and producing a gentle, ambient glow. Fully artisanal and limited edition, Athar embraces variation as evidence of the maker’s hand, offering a contemplative presence that transforms quiet interiors into spaces of reflection and poetic resonance.
