Created by an Indian design trio, Chandni Chhabra, Sooraj Sekhar and Dilshad Backer, Shift Chaise was a visionary design that transcended traditional seating by merging the functionality of a chair and a lounger into one harmonious design.
Drawing inspiration from the cultural and contextual nuances, the product represented a shift in design thinking—where comfort, innovation, and artistry converged to create a timeless icon in modern furniture. The chair is designed as a singular surface that is optimized to stabilize weight in 2 orientations.
By embracing multifunctionality and eco-conscious materials, Shift Chaise offered contemporary solutions for sustainable design and re-defined traditional concepts of seating and sustainability by offering value-added design that can be used in multiple ways.
