In the past, the people of the UAE had a strong bond with the sea and they found innovative ways to understand it and benefit from its richness. The sea was used as a means of trade, but it also provided them with plenty of seafood and rich oyster beds which provided the finest of pearls.
This maritime heritage displayed many sea crafts where the people used local materials to create innovative solutions in ship building, net weaving and many more.
