Neighbourhoods across Middle Eastern cities are dotted with public areas that are seldom used. This is a direct result of lack of easy and affordable access, but also of the lack of functional diversity these spaces offer.
With this proposal, the studio considers a new interconnectedness between the residents and their neighborhoods to create hybrid communities that can provide solutions to the emerging ways we may will live and work in the future, where remote working is the norm.
Set against the backdrop of the studio’s analysis of Dubai’s neighborhoods, ‘The Productive Center’ offers a prototype for our communities to embrace current and future challenges. The proposal is an evolution of a neighborhood hub with facilities that will offer people the chance to work remotely, socialize, workout and participate within their communities. The studio hope that the solution can integrate the community's different patterns into a unique one stop environment.
