TRIBE DUBAI
An independent home décor studio dedicated to sourcing ethical, sustainable and hand-made products directly from craft communities around the world, Tribe Dubai has an ever-growing network of artisans spanning over 25 countries. Founded by Jo England, the initiative offers financial, infrastructural and education support to the communities it sources from, at the same time, in rejecting today’s throw-away culture of fast furniture, offers truly unique pieces that nurture the global ‘slow’ production movement.
GEORGES OF DUBAI
Located in Dubai’s Al Quoz district, this lifestyle boutique concept offering a range of home accessories and furniture. Founder Georgina Trigg’s curates whimsical home accessories alongside timeless contemporary furniture inspired by her Australian take on refined living. The boutique recently partnered with the acclaimed Australian furniture brand MCM HOUSE to offer its retail and contract lines to the UAE and broader region.
KAWN
Founded in Amman, Jordan by architect and designer Rama Akel, Kawn is known for their limited-edition pieces, that bridge art, and practicality through the hands of local craftsmen. Elegant, sleek and modern, Kawn journeys beyond ‘furniture’ to deliver thoroughly contemporary ‘functional art’ created from a deep regard for local skills and the designer’s ability to marry bold geometry with refined materials.
KASHIDA
Kashida, creates luxurious home décor, incorporating a contemporary take on Arabic calligraphy that lends a Middle Eastern touch to homes, offices, hotels and public spaces. Launched in 2011 by Elie Abou Jamra and Mirna Hamady, the label transcends traditional manifestations of the beautiful letterforms by bringing them to life through bespoke, functional designs.
