This year’s jury includes the like of Marco Piva and India Mahdavi. Submissions for the Identity Design Awards 2020 close 15th September.

For the first time since their inaugural cycle in 2015, the Identity Design Awards will split their coveted trophies across two sections: Interior Design and Architecture, creating a holistic platform to celebrate design excellence in the MENA region.

“Having worked between architecture and interior design magazines in the past and most times covering the two industries through a separate lens, I thought it would be interesting - and unifying - to have a night where design across the MENA region is celebrated, be it interior design or architecture. After all, one doesn’t exist without the other,” says Aidan Imanova, Editor. “The new architecture category will honour cultural buildings, residential and commercial structures as well as public buildings and hotels.”

In addition to five new architecture categories – including Outdoor Design and Project of the Future, the 6th edition of the awards will also present a refreshed list of categories for interior design and include a category dedicated to bars, clubs and lounges.

“This year, we will also be selecting a Design of the Year for both interior design and architecture, chosen by our international roster of judges such as Marco Piva, India Mahdavi, Gianluca Peluffo, Sanjay Puri, and others.”

Nominations for the categories are open till 15th September; architects and interior designers across the Middle East and North Africa can apply. The Gala event is set to take place in Dubai on the 4th of November, 2020.
