We asked top Emirati artist, Maitha Demithan to share her favourite five exhibitors at the Fair.

Famous for her works that span across different mediums; Maitha has exhibited her masterpieces across the world, from the Brisbane Biennial to Shanghai Expo 2010.

Benwu Studio

They have experimental and fresh designs born from collaborations with artists and designers. They create artistic works that are simple and functional. The Chinese inspired chairs are built using traditional methods, and I like the fact that through art and design they preserve their traditions.

Latvian Pavilion

I'm completely in love with the braided 'Bride' lamp from Latvia’s Mamalampa, it's femininity and lightness make it almost alive - like a dancing figure in a white gown.

Lasvit

Glass becomes breathtaking when combined with light, and it becomes art when composed in rhythmic forms that are kinetic.  Icicle leaves frozen in time as they fall, a sunset captured in layers of horizontal glass, baubles on a ceiling like the surface of the water from below. Suspending these moments in time is visual poetry.

Etqaan

They feed my love for visual perfection, and the smart combination of European and Islamic patterns and culture is reflected in the pieces they make. As long as they keep making i don't think the Arabian legacy will fade.

Kvadrat

It's all fun and colourful! I especially love the 'clouds' because its almost like a chameleon that can transform into many shapes and has many uses. I like that they are interactive and have the flexibility to change.
