HH Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has been appointed as the Chairperson of Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (DCAA).

The announcement marks a new phase of Dubai Culture’s mission towards achieving Sheikh Mohammed’s vision of strengthening Dubai’s position as a global cultural hub at par with its standing as a prominent international financial and business centre.

Having worked at the authority since it was first set up in 2008 and in her previous role as Vice Chairman of Dubai Culture, Sheikha Latifa led many successful projects and activities, some of which included events aimed at raising the role of culture, arts, heritage and literature in society. These initiatives were aligned with Dubai Culture’s mission of empowering these four crucial sectors of society.

"Assuming the leadership of Dubai Culture at the start of a new chapter in its development is an honour for me,” said Sheikha Latifa. “I look forward to implementing a fresh strategy to firmly establish Dubai as a prominent cultural centre and a platform for fostering exceptional creative and cultural accomplishments locally, regionally and globally."

Under Sheika Latifa’s guidance, the Authority’s leadership will develop a new framework for consolidating Dubai’s role in the development of the UAE’s cultural landscape. In collaboration with various stakeholders, these initiatives will enhance innovation in the cultural and creative sectors.
