Coveted global brands such as Arper, Artemide, Baxter, Bomma, Herman Miller, Lasvit, Marset, Meridiani, Moroso, Normann Copenhagen, Poltrona Frau, Preciosa and Swarovski Lighting to mention but a few, will explore angles such as sustainability and design collaboration through their latest collections.

Additionally, this year will be the fair’s strongest showcase of regional talent yet; Incubator Tashkeel’s design programme ‘Tanween’ will unveil the latest collections by designers Alya Al Eghfeli, Hala Al Ani, Myrtille Ronteix and Renad Hussein alongside new collections from Aljoud Lootah (United Arab Emirates), Jeel Design (Palestine) and REJO Design Studio (KSA).

Downtown Editions will feature talent from across the MENA region via co-curated showcases by design weeks from across the region, including Amman, Beirut and Casablanca, uniting in Dubai to bridge design talent with international opportunity.

The fair’s master plan will be designed by Dubai-based architectural practice H+A, responding to this year’s theme, ‘Livable Cities’, mirroring the requirements of the architecture and design industry in the region. Industry panel talks and masterclasses will include some of the most influential design firms such as Foster+Partners, HBA and AECOM at The Forum, where among others the award-winning Nigerian-American designer Ini Archibong speaks for the first time in the Middle East.

With bespoke cafe concepts, design retail and exclusive workshops within the custom-built venue on the d3 Waterfront, Downtown Design 2018 is the perfect opportunity for industry professionals and design lovers to explore world-class design.

Downtown Design runs 13th-16th November 2018 as part of Dubai Design Week.
