This year’s edition of Downtown Design will present public visitors with an unforgettable experience featuring the best of contemporary design.

Alongside exploring the latest design trends showcased by 175 international and regional brands, visitors will be able to make memories surrounded by large-scale installations and fair features.

Connect with design at Preciosa’s installation, Breath of Light, the interactive concept invites visitors to blow into one of many glass orbs and watch as their breath manifests in a dynamic play of light – the perfect moment for Boomerang videos or GIFs. Visitors will also be able to enjoy activations at the fair’s waterfront terrace. Have your smartphones at the ready for a new iteration of Le Refuge by Marc Ange as it shimmers under the Dubai sun. Reminiscent of the Arabic symbol of the Evil Eye, sculptor David Harber’s monumental work, Aeon will also be presented outdoors with the backdrop of our Iconic skyline.

Inspired by design codes of the Futurist movement, a new take on the House of Negroni bar will be the season’s most exciting hangout, alongside pop-up cafes by Frame and The Kitchen that will be surrounded by an indoor garden created by the award-winning landscape designers, Desert INK.

Alongside public workshops that will focus on enhancing communication, teamwork and Instagram success, this year’s showcase will also feature the fair’s first-ever pop-up retail section. Re-style your home, invest in limited-edition statement pieces or purchase gifts from some of the most exciting design brands from around the world.
