Producing high-end bespoke rugs created using century old processes in Nepal, CC-Tapis collaborate with some of the world’s most influential designers, both established and emerging, including Patricia Urquiola, Bethan Laura Wood, StudioPepe, Mae Engelgeer, Ludovica+Roberto Palomba, Christophe Delcourt and Faye Toogood.

Now based in Milan, Nelcya and Fabrizio Cantoni originally founded the company in France and have been working with Tibetan artists for over 17 years. While the techniques used to produce the rugs are centuries old, CC-Tapis produces contemporary designs which can be customized in colour and size, making each piece limited edition.

CC-Tapis demonstrates a strong respect for the materials and the culture of this ancient Tibetan method of hand knotting carpets. This is reflected in the eco-friendly approach the company has taken throughout the production process. Each rug is produced with the finest materials including naturally stain resistant wool sourced from sheep in Tibet; silk imported from China and durable aloe fibres for rugs to be placed in areas with a high level of foot traffic. There is no involvement of machinery in any part of the production process, the yarn is hand dyed and knotted on a loom before being washed with recycled water. Mixing elements such as pattern and shapes with different production techniques gives life to the rugs whilst high-quality materials like Himalayan wool with pure silk add sheen and texture.
