In collaboration with the Council for International Accreditation of Architecture & Design (CIAAD), UN certified masterclasses took place at The Forum at Downtown Design, this year designed by the Dubai office of Intercon, spearheaded by Mohammed Adib.

Integrating architecture and design under one umbrella, CIAAD ensured a holistic approach to design education and the imagineering of the creative process, as well as the continuous development of the architecture and design professions worldwide. CIAAD is the official partner of the United Nations for the implementation and advancement of the Sustainable Development Goals UNSDGs. 

These masterclasses were only available to trade professionals i.e. architects, interior designers and design practitioners. Participants received a personalised certificate from the UN website which can be used to continuing education points. 

Accreditation & Certification towards the Implementation of the UNSDGs

The professional world today focuses on integrating a futuristic vision in architecture and design within one harmonious creative universe powered by collaboration between professionals, educational institutions, and industry. Accreditation of academic programs and certification of architects and designers are the most reliable quality assurance for all facets of the creative ecosystem and the world of Design. Masterclass was led by Prof. Albert Fakhoury, Ph.D. President of CIAAD.

Artificial Intelligence for Responsive Architecture & Design

AI systems have become an essential tool for designing and constructing complex structures, providing architects with exceptional capabilities to optimize their work and achieve unprecedented levels of precision. Architects who incorporate AI technology into their design processes can streamline various tasks, such as generating design options, selecting materials, optimizing energy use, and managing projects. This masterclass will explore the intersections of design and technology, emphasizing AI's evolving role in shaping responsive, adaptive, and sustainable spaces. Masterclass was led by Prof. Imad Hanna, Associate Professor at American University of Dubai.

The Architecture of Sound and the Sound of Architecture

The purpose of this course is to furnish designers and engineers with a thorough grounding in the fundamentals of acoustics. Designed to cater to participants who possess basic knowledge in acoustics, this masterclass focuses on the creation of optimal indoor atmospheres through the construction of appropriate acoustics. Participants will be introduced to indispensable concepts and tools necessary for analyzing and forecasting the behavior of sound in intricate acoustical systems, ranging from sound propagation in open spaces and enclosed environments to the traits of sound sources. Masterclass was led by Joseph Ammar, Managing Director of Three Minds General Trading.
