Marcus Fairs is founder and editor-in-chief of Dezeen. In January 2017, for his contribution to architecture, he was awarded an Honorary Fellowship of the Royal Institute of British Architects, making him the first digital journalist to be bestowed with the honour.

In 2018 he was named one of the 1,000 most influential people in London by the Evening Standard. In 2011, Architectural Digest, France, placed him in the 100 Qui Comptent list of the most important figures in global design.

For his objective and inspiring reportage on the design world, he has also been named Journalist of the Year and Business Editor of the Year. 

Before founding Dezeen in 2006, Marcus worked for publications such as The Guardian, The Independent on Sunday, Conde Nast Traveller and Icon magazine for which he won the a BSME award for Best Brand-Building Initiative in 2005.

Marcus will chair the panel discussion, 'The Power of Design', a talk filmed by Dezeen for Aritco.
