UAE-based studio MODU, short for modular, represents pieces that are multi-functional, and grow with time.
The MODU Method is an exploration of behaviour and the interaction with objects and spaces. MODU intends to create and promote a convenient way of life, to the point of forming a community around the method. The articles (pieces) are primarily inspired by the mid-century era, which encourages MODU to experiment with unconventional design. At Downtown Design 2022, MODU will be displaying the interactive and modular ‘Shelly’ bookshelf. A multipurpose and sustainable piece, Shelly aims to change the perception of design in a manner that is practical as well as fun.
