EBY’A UGANDA - which means "Made in Uganda" in Bantu dialect - will showcase the craftsmanship of Ugandan artisans. Three businesses, Byentaro Ceramics, Easy Afric Designs and Rubona Baskets, will present handcrafted ceramics, items made with barkcloth and handwoven baskets. This is the first time Ugandan businesses will participate in Downtown Design.

Byentaro Ceramics' designs are inspired by Uganda's abundant and lush fauna and flora, and capture the divine blueprint of nature to create functional and stunning ceramic tableware. Made with care, precision and attention to detail, Byentaro Ceramics' designs bring a sense of beauty to the everyday lives of his clients.

Easy Afric Designs brings a contemporary twist to barkcloth, transforming it into interior design and fashion accessories. Barkcloth is harvested from the indigenous Ficus Natalensis tree and is known for its unique texture that boasts the sturdy quality of leather. Barkcloth is the ultimate vegan leather!

Rubona Baskets is a women's collective that makes high quality baskets using millet, banana leaf and raffia fibers. Rubona baskets are known for their intricate handwork and mesmerising symmetrical designs which convey a sense of peace. They only use natural dyes from plants such as turmeric, wood ash, madder root and indigo.
