Actuel Urban Living is a creative furniture design startup with a vision to become a renowned brand of contemporary home design and furniture in Africa and beyond. We design and create products that are functional, emotion inspiring and filled with passion for beauty and quality. Actuel offers a range of office and home furniture as well as home furnishing products to our clients by providing options for design, well-built furniture to an increasingly globally connected and sophisticated clientele. All our furniture and home furnishing accessories are designed and Made in Ethiopia by skilled artisans who take great pride in their work. Our first home collection, inspired by elements of the Danish modern design movement as well as the minimalist spirit of traditional Ethiopian design, has a refined organic feel, dominated with clean pure lines and natural materials such as solid wood, cotton, wool and iron metal.
Actuel won the ADM III business plan competition award in September 2015 as well as a mention in CNN African Voices’ ‘Guide to shopping in Addis’ segment in March 2016. Actuel Urban Living was a participant at the first ever Design week Addis event in November 2015 and will be exhibiting at the Downtown Design Exhibition in October 2016.
