Polish designer Kinda Ghannoum is the co-founder of the Syrian Design Archive, and holds a Master of Visual Arts from Sint Lucas Antwerpen. Drawing inspiration from Arabic visual culture and typography.
Commissioned by 421 to create visuals for their annual digital calendar, this project evolved from a pixel-art digital direction into a spatial installation and woven carpet collection. The work reinterprets traditional Arabic calligraphy, ornamental motifs, and pattern-making through a modular, screen-inspired visual language. By translating digital pixels into the ancient medium of carpet weaving, it creates a tactile bridge between inherited heritage and contemporary digital life.
