Contemporary Spaces is a new furniture studio founded by Emirati siblings Alya, Maitha and Obaid Al Suwaidi.
The brand introduces a fresh design voice shaped by heritage, craftsmanship and a distinctly modern aesthetic, offering furniture created for the evolving rhythm of contemporary living in the UAE. The story of Contemporary Spaces began long before the studio itself. The founders grew up inside their father’s furniture and interior manufacturing factories, surrounded by materials, tools and the quiet artistry of skilled makers. Being immersed in this environment from childhood shaped their deep appreciation for craftsmanship and the beauty of transforming raw materials into pieces that elevate the home. Establishing their own studio became a natural progression, carrying forward a family legacy while reinterpreting it for a new generation.
Each founder brings a different strength to the brand. One leans toward conceptual design, another toward material exploration and finishing, and another toward technical execution. Together, their individual perspectives create a collaborative process that balances creativity with practicality. Their shared upbringing in manufacturing defines their approach: precision, integrity and thoughtful attention to every detail.
